Starting salaries typically range between £20,000 and £24,000. With experience, you can earn up to £35,000 and senior engineers can earn more than £45,000. Partners in a firm of consulting engineers can look to earn anything between £65,000 and £85,000.

What are the benefits?

Benefits are stipulated by the company but may include petrol, meal, travel and uniform allowance.

Are there chances of promotion?

You could go on to become a project engineer, associate engineer, partner or even director in a consultancy.

What will I be responsible for?

You will be responsible for commissioning, organising and assessing work, ensuring it is kept to budget, overseeing and supervising the installation of building systems and specifying maintenance and operating procedures, monitoring building systems and processes and ensuring that the design and maintenance of building systems meets legislative and health and safety requirements.

Do I need any experience?
