Trainee Admin

A trainee administrator is responsible for the effective running of an office. This junior position is ideally suited for school leavers or those looking to gain experience for a more senior role in future.

Who can I work for?

Trainee admin positions, sometimes referred to as office junior, are available at many offices all over the UK from large banks, solicitors and local authorities to doctor's surgeries, dentists and accountants.

Where and when can I work?

Anywhere in the UK that has an administration function. Administration and clerical work is a vital part of any business. Working hours are typically 9am-5pm Monday to Friday.

What can I earn?

The wages for trainee administrators is usually minimum wage. This will rise with experience and as more responsibility is added to the role. Juniors working in London may attract a slightly higher wage.

What are the benefits?

The main benefit is a steady job that offers the chance of gaining experience and climbing the ladder. Other benefits include paid holiday and sociable working hours.

Are there chances of promotion?

Starting at this level, the only way is up. Trainee administrators can work their way to administrator, senior administrator and management roles beyond that.
