The job of an office assistant includes helping to maintain a professional working environment, providing administrative, clerical and secretarial support.

Who can I work for?

You can work for any company that requires admin support, from a small doctors surgery to the head office of a large bank.

Where and when can I work?

As an office assistant you will work Monday to Friday, from 9.00am to 5.30pm.

What can I earn?

You can earn a salary between £16,000 and £20,000 depending on your experience and the responsibilities you hold.

What are the benefits?

The main benefit of this role is rarely having to work weekends and being paid for time off, such as for holiday and sickness.

Are there chances of promotion?

Office assistants can be promoted to the role of office manager, where they will be able to earn more depending on how much experience and knowledge they have.

What will I be responsible for?

Responsibilities are likely to include filing, typing letters, working alongside the office manager, answering the phone/door and overseeing internal and external post.

Do I need any experience?
