Job Description

Overview:

We are currently searching for an experienced 1st / 2nd Line Support Engineer to join a London-based organisation on an initial 6-month contract. The role will provide hands‑on technical support across a busy user environment, resolving day-to-day incidents and service requests while escalating more complex issues where required.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1st and 2nd line technical support across desktop, laptop, software and user‑access issues.
  • Troubleshoot incidents across hardware, operating systems, applications and connectivity.
  • Manage user onboarding, offboarding, account access and permissions.
  • Own incidents and service requests through to resolution, escalating where necessary.
  • Support users remotely and face‑to‑face across the London office.
  • Maintain accurate ticketing, technical documentation and knowledge‑base information.
  • Work closely with wider IT teams to resolve recurring issues and improve the overall user experience.

Technical Requirements:

  • Previous experience within a 1st / 2nd Line, Service Desk or Desktop Support environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows desktop and common business applications.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft 365 and user account administration.
  • Good understanding of Active Directory / identity and access management.
  • Experience supporting laptops, desktops, mobile devices and peripheral hardware.
  • Basic networking knowledge including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and connectivity troubleshooting.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence supporting users at all levels.
  • Proactive approach with the ability to work independently and manage multiple incidents.

Rate & Duration:

  • Initial 6 Month Contract
  • London – Hybrid Working
