Safeguard Armour , a leader in military equipment and clothing, is seeking an ambitious and results-oriented New Business Development Executive to join our new division of performance materials. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in identifying, qualifying, and securing new business opportunities for our cutting-edge material solutions.
You should be ambitious, confident, and skilled in end to end sales: prospecting to onaboarding to closing commercial deals. There are only around 50 potential customers worldwide for our products, so we need someone who has refined sales skills, and can penetrate these organisations
1-2 days a week in our Leeds office. International travel to customers and trade shows required. You should have excellent verbal British-English communication. Starting salary is £30,000 with upto £20,000 OTE within 18 months. Salary will be re-negotiated every 12 months in line with performance
Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough market research to identify emerging trends, potential applications, and new customer segments for our materials.
Develop and implement a comprehensive new business development strategy aligned with company objectives.
Prospect and qualify leads, building strong relationships with potential customers across diverse industries.
Educate and engage with potential customers, effectively communicating the unique value proposition of our materials.
Negotiate and close new business deals, ensuring successful contract execution.
Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of your new business development activities.
Collaborate effectively with internal teams (R&D, Marketing, Sales) to bring new solutions to market.
Stay current on industry trends and advancements in material science.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field (MBA preferred).
Minimum 2-4 years of experience in business development, preferably within the material science, technology, or B2B environment.
A proven track record of identifying and securing new business opportunities.
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Self-motivated, with a strong work ethic and a desire to exceed expectations.
Ability to travel as needed.
