What will I be responsible for?

By working in finance you can expect your responsibilities to include looking after a company or several companies' accounts; budgeting; forecasting for the year ahead, and payroll duties.

Do I need any experience?

Experience of previously working in an office is beneficial, as is a confidence with numbers. There are also several different finance qualifications that can be obtained, with these of course standing you in good stead.

What attributes are needed?

To work in a finance role you need to be organised, have good time management, enjoy working with numbers, feel confident at working on a computer and enjoy being a part of a team.

What can I earn?

Earnings in finance vary depending on the type of role worked in. Admin and finance managers can expect to earn around £20,000, while chartered accountants can earn anything up to £100,000. Salary can be dependent on experience and often rises with the more experience you gain.

What are the benefits?

Benefits of working in finance include only having to work during the week, therefore being able to spend weekends at home.
