Technical Operations Engineer (3rd Line)

Spherica – Birmingham, England, United Kingdom

Base pay range: £40‑£45K pa DOE (dependent on skills and experience)

Shift Pattern & Working Hours

24/7/365 service with bank holidays. 12‑hour shifts: 7am‑7pm (Day Shift) and 7pm‑7am (Night Shift). DuPont 4‑week rolling rota: 4 Nights / 3 Days Off, 3 Days / 1 Day Off, 3 Nights / 3 Days Off, 4 Days / 7 Days Off.

Location

Remote – travel to client sites may be required.

Role Overview

We are an Automation and Innovation IT Managed Service Provider. As a 3rd Line Technical Support Engineer (Technical Operations Engineer), you will be part of a 24/7 operational team working under the DuPont shift pattern, ensuring uninterrupted support and coverage for our clients. This role involves overseeing technical operations, maintaining relationships with high‑profile clients, and ensuring best practices for reliability and security.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day‑to‑day support for all infrastructure, network, and security aspects.
  • Oversee processes, maintain client and stakeholder relationships, and enforce best practices.
  • Collaborate with 2nd line teams and other internal stakeholders to resolve complex issues.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, networking, and security principles, routing and switching, WAN/LAN technologies.
  • Proficient knowledge of firewall solutions (physical and virtual), Fortinet SDWAN, Cisco ISE, and Cisco Meraki Wi‑Fi.
  • Experience with SIEM, DLP, Vulnerability Management, Cyber Threat Intelligence, and Endpoint Protection.
  • Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
