The charity works with young women between the ages of 13 and 24, delivering eight early intervention programmes with the goal of assisting them in achieving a life free from abuse and in good mental health so that they are better equipped to participate in educational, employment, and life opportunities.The charity has grown rapidly in recent years and is investing in building the right systems, structures, and capabilities ready to scale. The organisation is seeking an experienced HR manager to assist in change management and rapid growth. Roles and Responsibilities The HR manager will work directly with the charity's operational team, creating excellent working relationships with each employee. They will communicate and support organisational operational and strategic needs, educating employees on HR policies, practices, and processes. The human resource management process maintains legal adherence throughout.

The HR Manager will also develop the organisational culture by supporting initiatives and projects that enable the charity to meet its vision, mission, and goals. They have access to an external expert on professional employment law and guidelines, who can escalate when seeking guidance or advice.

The HR Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for various HR-related tasks, including the charity sickness process, flexible working arrangements, disciplinary and performance management processes, grievance process, active annual leave records, and providing help and direction during probationary and leave periods. They will ensure compliance with immigration rules, assist in payroll, manage and monitor submission of P11d, P60, and P45 processes, administer employee benefits, and engage with third-party providers.

The HR Manager will also review and update HR policies, practices, and processes to ensure they are legally compliant, aligned with the charity's objectives, and provide a framework for justice and equity in employee treatment. They will also manage job advertisements, selection processes, promotions, compensation reviews, training requirements, and monitoring training programs.

The HR Manager will also assist with the development of various HR KPIs, report to management, and use HR indicators to assist in decision-making. They will adhere to GDPR principles, maintain and develop personnel data, ensure health and safety standards, and provide support for wellness and wellbeing.

The HR Manager will also provide additional support to the Director of Operations and operations team as needed, serve as an ambassador for Sister System, and carry out all other tasks deemed necessary by Sister System in accordance with the service model. Additionally, the HR manager will provide restorative justice as needed.

Requirements and talents they are looking for The candidate should have CIPD level 5 or demonstrable HR generalist experience, knowledge of HR best practices and employment legislation, experience in employee relations cases, payroll processes, and employee benefits management. They should also have strong ethical standards, personal integrity, and empathy. They should have experience in recruitment, selection, and retention processes. The candidate should be an excellent communicator, with the ability to build strong relationships and inspire confidence. They should have versatile written communication skills, excellent listening skills, excellent planning and organisational skills, and be strong team players. They should also demonstrate strong negotiation, influence, and decision-making skills. They should be proactive in investigating and solving problems, strive for continuous improvement, and identify creative solutions.
