You can become a chartered engineer of apply for incorporated status. This will greatly improve your position and salary. After numerous years of experience, many engineers progress into project management or become a consultant or contractor.

You are likely to be involved in a project from its initial conception through to completion. This can include meeting a client, developing ideas and designing the concept, building the electronics system, overseeing its installation and undertaking any maintenance work associated with it.
