M&E Design Engineer

• Provide technical assurance and review Rail Systems M&E designs for compliance with client requirements, railway standards and industry best practice
• Lead engineering and technical delivery of complex rail systems projects from concept through construction and commissioning
• Challenge and improve design and contractor proposals to deliver safe, efficient and value-driven solutions
• Coordinate multidisciplinary design activities across signalling, power, communications, M&E and systems integration disciplines
• Manage technical interfaces and integrate multiple work packages and project stakeholders
• Support engineering reviews, technical approvals and assurance processes
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, suppliers and regulatory bodies
• Drive continuous improvement, innovation and technical excellence across rail systems project delivery

Requirements

• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related discipline
• Proven experience delivering complex Rail Systems and M&E projects within the rail infrastructure sector
• Strong understanding of systems integration and multidisciplinary project delivery
• Knowledge of Network Rail standards, railway assurance processes and relevant UK regulations
• Experience managing technical interfaces across signalling, communications, power and M&E disciplines
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and relationship-building skills
• Membership of a relevant professional institution such as IET, IRSE, IMechE or ICE, or working towards professional registration
• Proactive and collaborative approach with a commitment to innovation, safety and engineering excellence
• May require relevant security clearance
• May require proof of residency in the UK for 5 years or longer
