Information Technology Support Technician

Job Description

Location: Northwest - Office & Client Sites

Working Hours: 8:00am - 4:00pm

Driving Licence & Own Car: Essential

Mileage: Paid for travel to client sites

An established and growing technology services business is looking for an IT Support Technician to join its team, providing hands-on IT support from the office and across a range of client sites throughout the Northwest.

This is a varied role where you'll spend your time either working from the office or travelling to client sites to provide face-to-face technical support. You'll work with a variety of customers and IT environments, meaning no two days are likely to be the same.

You'll be responsible for troubleshooting technical issues, supporting users and helping to keep client IT environments running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing 1st and 2nd line IT support for clients.
  • Travelling to client sites across the Northwest to provide hands-on support.
  • Diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues.
  • Supporting Windows desktops, laptops and mobile devices.
  • Assisting with networking, Wi-Fi and infrastructure issues.
  • Setting up and configuring hardware and software.
  • Managing and prioritising support tickets.
  • Providing face-to-face technical support to customers.
  • Escalating more complex technical issues where required.
  • Building strong relationships with clients and users.

Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience in an IT Support / IT Technician role.
  • Experience either in an MSP or within the education sector.
  • A good understanding of IT hardware, software and networking.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Comfortable travelling to different client sites across the Northwest.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own car.
  • Exposure to a wide range of technologies and IT environments.
