HSE Advisor

Job Description

Report on progress against the plan, recommend changes based on an ongoing assessment of HSE performance and risk management.

HSE representative in client and site daily and weekly project management meetings as needed

To ensure that every person in the company follows company safety policies required under the law.

Conduct risk assessments and list all the possible ways to reduce likelihood and severity.

Regularly inspect the work areas to ensure that company policies and procedures are followed.

Ensure that the company supports safe working practices and complies with the law.

Support the development of H&S strategies and plans.

Record and review all workplace accidents and incidents for reporting and statistical purposes.

Keep up to date with Health, safety and environmental legislation that will affect the company.

Assist with creating management reports, including bulletins, newsletters, and toolbox talks.

Ensure all equipment is operated safely.

Ensure disposal of all waste and hazardous substances are carried out in line with safely and environmental legislation .

Support the management team to maintain and improve ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 accreditation.

Qualifications

Educational Requirements:

Level 3 qualification in Occupational Health and Safety Management eg NEBOSH General Certificate [Essential]

ISO 450001:2018 and ISO 45001:2018 internal auditor experience [Desirable]

Working knowledge of Environmental legislation and practices [Desirable]

Key Technical Skills:

Experience in HSE support of large projects, particularly oil and gas and marine projects.

Strong interpersonal & communication skills (including presentation skills).

Strong problem-solving skills.

Capable of working with processes & procedures

Clear & concise communicator

Good understanding of customers & their requirements.

Good planning & organisational skills.

Key Interpersonal/Behavioural Skills:

Ability to work effectively across multiple boundaries

Able to build effective & productive customer relationships.

Confident in challenging situations.

Self-starter

Driven to deliver results

Strong influencing & relationship building skills
