PostgreSQL Database Engineer

We’re partnering with a highly regarded technology-driven firm seeking a skilled Database Engineer with deep expertise in PostgreSQL. This is a hands-on role within a global team tasked with supporting high-performance, highly available systems.

You’ll play a key role in designing, deploying, and maintaining cross-platform database solutions across a mix of open-source and enterprise technologies. Collaborating closely with developers, infrastructure engineers, and investment professionals, your work will directly impact core business functions.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Engineer for reliability, scale, and performance, with a focus on automation and DevOps principles
• Design and implement backup, HA, and disaster recovery strategies
• Tune queries and optimize performance at both the system and code levels
• Collaborate across multiple internal teams on infrastructure and architecture decisions
• Leverage scripting (Python, Ruby, or Perl) for automation and operational tasks
• Own projects from design to deployment within an agile, fast-paced environment

What We’re Looking For:

• 4+ years of hands-on experience managing PostgreSQL database environments
• Strong understanding of database internals – indexing, triggers, stored procedures
• Scripting skills in Python, Ruby, or Perl
• Familiarity with version control workflows and DevOps methodologies
• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
