Introduction:

Were looking for a Database Engineer to join a major technology transformation programme within financial services.

This is a hands-on engineering role not a traditional DBA position . Youll work across Oracle, PostgreSQL and NoSQL platforms , helping build, automate and optimise highly available enterprise database environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Engineer and support Oracle and PostgreSQL database platforms.

Work with Cassandra, MongoDB and/or Couchbase .

Automate database provisioning, configuration and deployments.

Implement Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD practices.

Optimise database performance, queries and indexing.

Support high availability, replication and resilience.

Troubleshoot complex production issues and perform root-cause analysis.

Partner with developers, architects and infrastructure teams.

Support database migrations and technology modernisation.

Develop reusable tooling and automation to eliminate manual DBA processes.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

Experience as a Database Engineer / DBA .

Hands-on Oracle and PostgreSQL experience.

Experience with at least one NoSQL/distributed database Cassandra, MongoDB or Couchbase.

Strong SQL, performance tuning and troubleshooting skills.
