Site Engineer

The Role

We're looking for a Construction Project Engineer to support delivery on our brick and block packages. If you're working as a Site Engineer now and want more involvement in programme, coordination and client-facing work, this is a step in that direction. You'll report to the Project Manager and work closely with the Construction Manager and site supervisors.

Site Engineer - What You'll Be Doing

• Developing a full understanding of the ROSS scope of works
• Supporting site supervisors in resolving on-site engineering queries
• Setting out and checking gauge, coursing, plumb and level on masonry works
• Working with the Construction Manager to monitor the project schedule
• Coordinating materials and deliveries in line with the construction programme
• Ensuring effective coordination between ROSS and other trades on site
• Preparing weekly progress reports for the client and Project Manager
• Monitoring site activities for scope compliance and identifying potential variations
• Liaising with consultants, PSCS, contractors and client teams
• Attending and contributing to progress meetings
• Participating in safety audits and monitoring site safety performance
• Supporting QA activities so units are handed over on time

Site Engineer - What You'll Need

• Minimum 2 years' site experience in an engineering role, ideally with a masonry, brick and block or envelope contractor
• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline
• Strong technical knowledge of masonry specifications and products
• Confident reading and interpreting construction drawings
• Competent setting out with total station and dumpy level
• CSCS card, with SSSTS an advantage
• Excellent communication and reporting skills
• Strong organisational and coordination abilities
• Comfortable in a fast-paced site environment

Nice to Have

• Experience on high-volume residential or large commercial developments
• Familiarity with cavity wall detailing, wall ties, cavity trays and masonry support
• Knowledge of QA/QC processes and NHBC standards
• Site Engineer experience on a subcontract package rather than main contractor side
