Electronics Technical Manager

Berkshire | Up to £70,000 plus car and excellent bonus, depending on experience

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Technical Manager, with a strong electronics background, especially in embedded electronics, EMC & Power electronics to lead technical activity across a specialist electronics environment.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role combining electronics engineering, customer support, product development, manufacturing, test activity and team leadership.

What you will do

• Lead technical activities across embedded electronics and power products
• Support customers and Sales teams with technical solutions and product design-ins
• Select, source and qualify third-party products and components
• Oversee electronics design, integration, prototyping, modification and testing
• Manage production workflow, technical documentation and quality requirements
• Lead EMC testing and support the development of an in-house test capability
• Develop test specifications, wiring schedules, reports and control procedures
• Provide technical support for fault-finding, repairs and corrective actions
• Work closely with suppliers, manufacturers, Product Managers and customers
• Supervise engineering, test and production personnel

What we are looking for

You are likely to have:

• A degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Science or equivalent experience
• Strong experience across electronics design, manufacture and test
• Experience with embedded boards, power supplies and electronic systems
• High-level system design and technical problem-solving capability
• Experience with EMC and environmental testing, including designing for EMC
• CAD and schematic capture experience
• Experience of fault-finding, repair and product modification
• Knowledge of quality standards and QMS
• Experience with Windows, Linux or real-time operating systems
• Strong customer and supplier communication skills
• The ability to manage people, projects and competing priorities
