Facilities Technical Services Manager

Job Description

DC Thomson is recruiting for an Estates & Facilities Technical Services Manager to join our Estates & Facilities team based in Dundee. The Technical Services Manager provides strategic and operational leadership for engineering maintenance, statutory compliance, critical infrastructure resilience and lifecycle asset performance across DC Thomson's property portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate and develop the Estates Maintenance team.
  • Coordinate internal engineering resources and external contractors.
  • Develop and maintain engineering maintenance strategies.
  • Monitor maintenance performance through KPIs and maintenance systems.
  • Take technical ownership of critical infrastructure and statutory compliance.
  • Manage contractor governance and engineering service performance.
  • Provide technical expertise to projects and capital investment programmes.
  • Support sustainability and energy reduction initiatives.

Skills

  • Strong technical leadership and people management capability.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Commercial awareness and sound decision-making ability.
  • Experience using maintenance KPIs to drive improvement.

Experience

  • HNC/HND in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Time-served apprenticeship.
  • Management experience.
  • Experience managing engineering teams, contractors and compliance.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Additional Information

Full-time (35 hours per week), Dundee based with travel across the estate as required. Participation in out-of-hours escalation arrangements may be required.
