Administrative Assistant (Maternity Cover)

Location: Morden

Pay Rate: £16.00 per hour

Hours: 3 or 4 days per week (flexible on days, Tuesday to Friday)

Working Hours: 8:30am - 4:00pm

Contract: Temporary Maternity Cover until July 2027

Start Date: ASAP

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Administrative Assistant to join our supportive and friendly team within a Specialist School in Morden. This front-facing role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a busy environment, providing a warm welcome to visitors while delivering high-quality administrative support across the school.

This is a long-term maternity cover position, offering stability through to July 2027 for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive administrative support to the school team.

Act as the first point of contact for visitors, parents, students and external professionals.

Answer and direct incoming telephone calls and email enquiries.

Maintain accurate records, databases and filing systems.

Assist with correspondence, reports and general office administration.

Support the organisation of meetings, appointments and school activities.

Ensure all information is handled confidentially and in accordance with data protection requirements.

Undertake additional administrative duties as required to support the smooth running of the school.

Person Specification

The successful candidate will have:

Previous experience within an administrative, receptionist or customer-facing role.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail.

A professional, friendly and approachable manner.

Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.

The ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Experience within an education, healthcare or care setting would be advantageous but is not essential.
