Job Description

We're looking for 2 hardworking and resilient Support Worker's to join our Learning Disabilities service located in Hertfordshire. No experience or personal care required, just the right values.

£28,808.00 per annum, working 40 hours per week.

Oakview is a supported living project for 10 customers with mild to moderate learning disabilities. It provides a 24/7 support service, with an emphasis on choice and control for customers, enabling them to achieve greater independence, improved quality of life and integration into the wider community.

What you'll do:

The service offers specialist support to homeless men across a range of areas including re-offending behaviour, mental health issues, physical health needs and substance misuse. Edward Alsop Court implements and promotes the Psychologically Informed Environment (PIE) model.

We also have external support from Turning Point and CGL to support our customers with their substance misuse.

This is not an exhaustive list of all the duties and responsibilities that may be required from time to time and is subject to change in accordance with the needs of Look Ahead.

If a need arises, deliver all aspects of support to enable a customer to develop independent

living skills as appropriate to the individual needs of the customer. In some services, this

will include delivering personal and physical care as appropriate

Support customers to undertake all domestic tasks wherever possible, including practical

assistance where they have not yet developed the skills, to ensure customers enjoy a high

quality of accommodation

Participate in the support planning and risk management, as facilitated by the lead Support

Worker

Carry out security duties to ensure the safety of the customers and premisesAbout you:

Exudes a warm friendly presence and open behaviour

Prefers working as part of a group or team

Is fundamentally calm and resilient, does not let emotion adversely affect them or obscure

their judgementWhat you'll bring:

Essential:

NVQ Level 2 or equivalent or experience within charity/social care sectorDesirable:
