We work across the UK with customers in the building and construction sectors.Maincor are a department of Floplast Limited, within the wienerberger UK & Ireland – Water & Heating division.About the roleAs a Design Engineer you will be supporting excellent customer service and sales performance through the delivery of accurate technical designs, quotations and product guidance. You'll work closely with customers, installers and internal teams to develop high-quality solutions that meet customer requirements while helping to maximise conversion rates and commercial performance.Duties also include:Booking in new design quotesValue engineering design quotes to improve conversion ratesProviding technical input to create margin opportunities within designsProducing CAD designsFielding technical product and design queriesProviding system and product technical guidanceProducing building heat loss dataResponding to technical sales follow up enquiriesProducing technical documentation for heating systemsProducing plumbing design take-offs for hot and cold servicesThis role plays an important part in maintaining customer satisfaction, protecting our reputation, and supporting growth within the heat pump and renewable energy market. Your work will help customers receive the right solution first time while supporting the successful delivery of technical and commercial objectives across the business.There are opportunities to develop your technical expertise, broaden your commercial knowledge, and collaborate with colleagues across sales, operations, technical and customer-facing teams.This position will be based at our Maincor Sales/Technical Office in Hinckley.About youEssentialProficiency in CAD software and the production of technical drawings and system layoutsExperience interpreting customer requirements and producing accurate technical quotations and design proposalsContinuous improvement mindset with a focus on improving conversion rates and increasing profitabilityExperience providing technical support and guidance to customers, installers, contractors and sales teamsStrong written communication skills with experience producing technical documentation, specifications and supporting literatureExcellent organisational, problem-solving and prioritisation skills with the ability to manage multiple enquiries and deadlines in a customer-focused environmentDesirableKnowledge of heating, plumbing, HVAC, building services or renewable energy system designKnowledge of heating system design principles, including heat pumps and renewable heating technologiesExperience undertaking building heat loss calculations and system sizingKnowledge of hot and cold water services design and plumbing take-offsAbout our BenefitsSalary up to £39,000 (depending on experience)You'll have 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays.Support is there when you need it through our employee assistance and wellbeing programmes.
