Job Description

Opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer to join a leading chilled foods business offering plenty of opportunities for development and progression. You'll be a key part of the engineering maintenance team in an established, growing food business which continues to invest in its site and people.

In addition to your salary, you'll also receive some great benefits including enhanced pension and life assurance.

The site is easily commutable from Leeds, Wakefield, Barnsley, Goole, and surrounding areas.

Shift Pattern: 4 on/ 2 off (rotating)

About the Role

Reporting to the Engineering Maintenance Manager, you'll be delivering a high level of engineering support to improve reliability and minimise downtime. As Maintenance Engineer, some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering planned and reactive maintenance across plant equipment and systems.
  • Responding quickly to breakdowns, carrying out repairs to a high standard.
  • Proactively looking for long-term engineering solutions, with a strong focus on continuous improvement.
  • Working closely with production teams and engineering colleagues to identify recurring faults and improve reliability.
  • Ensuring all work is carried out in line with HSE standards.

About You

  • Recognised engineering apprenticeship (electrical or mechanical) or equivalent qualifications (eg, HNC/HND in appropriate engineering discipline).
  • Experience of working in a maintenance engineer position, ideally in a food, drink, or fast paced manufacturing environment.
  • PLC fault finding experience (preferred).
  • Able to work with colleagues at all levels in engineering, operations and other departments.
  • Positive approach to team work and comfortable challenging the status-quo to deliver improvements.
