Maintenance Engineer

Job Description

Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias)

Location: West Yorkshire

Salary: £42,000 – £46,000 OTE (including overtime)

Must Haves

  • Time-served Maintenance Engineer
  • Strong electrical fault-finding ability
  • Experience working on industrial machinery
  • Basic PLC fault finding / diagnostics
  • Proactive, hands-on attitude

Hours

  • Monday to Friday – Rotating Shifts
  • 1 week: 06:00 – 14:30
  • 1 week: 13:30 – 22:00
  • 2 weeks: 08:00 – 16:30
  • Overtime available at time and a half

The Opportunity

This is a hands-on, fast-paced maintenance role within a well-established manufacturing environment.

You’ll be responsible for keeping machinery running efficiently, carrying out both reactive and planned maintenance, and playing a key role in minimising downtime across the site.

If you enjoy fault finding, problem solving, and being a go-to engineer on the shop floor — this role gives you the autonomy to do exactly that.

Key Responsibilities

  • Electrical and mechanical maintenance of machinery
  • Fault finding on motors, drives, and control systems
  • PLC fault finding and basic diagnostics
  • Carrying out PPMs and reactive maintenance
  • Supporting continuous improvement projects
  • Ensuring all work is completed safely and efficiently
  • Participating in the on-call rota

What We’re Looking For

  • A confident, hands-on engineer with a strong electrical background
  • Someone who can fault find quickly and effectively under pressure
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • 18th Edition (advantageous but not essential)
  • A team player with a proactive mindset
