We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Buyer to join our team in a full-time, on-site role. As a Buyer will play a pivotal role in sourcing, purchasing, and managing inventory of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to meet the demands of our global travel retail partners. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the beverage industry, strong negotiation skills, and a proven track record of building successful relationships with brand owners and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
Sourcing and Procurement: Lead the sourcing and procurement efforts for a diverse range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages from international suppliers, ensuring compliance with quality standards and preferences of our travel retail partners.
Supplier and Brand Owner Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key brand owners in the industry, including Diageo, Pernod Ricard, Brown Forman, and Bacardi. Collaborate closely with brand owners to develop joint business plans, negotiate contracts, and optimize terms and conditions.
Tender Management: Oversee the tender process for securing contracts with brand owners and suppliers, ensuring competitive pricing, favourable terms, and adherence to procurement policies and regulations.
Rebate Management: Utilize expertise in reclaiming rebates from brand owners, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with rebate agreements.
Inventory and Logistics Management: Work closely with logistics and warehouse teams to optimize inventory levels, coordinate shipments, and ensure timely delivery of products to global travel retail locations. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of international logistics and incoterms.
Market Analysis and Trend Identification: Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities. Conduct market research and analysis to identify new product opportunities and anticipate market demands.
Travel and Trade Shows: Travel domestically and internationally for meetings, trade shows, and industry events to foster relationships with brand owners, suppliers, and industry stakeholders.
Communication and Collaboration: Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills, collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams to align purchasing strategies with business objectives. Act as a proactive team player, providing guidance and support to colleagues as needed.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3-5 years of international buying experience in the beverage industry, with a focus on travel retail or global travel being an advantage
Proven track record of successfully negotiating contracts and building relationships with brand owners and suppliers.
Experience managing tenders and reclaiming rebates from brand owners.
Strong understanding of international logistics, incoterms, and inventory management practices.
Familiarity with joint business plans and collaborative initiatives with brand owners.
Willingness to travel frequently for meetings, trade shows, and industry events.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
