Control Systems Engineer

We are working with a growing specialist engineering business that designs and builds bespoke special-purpose machinery for customers across the UK and internationally.They are looking for an experienced Electrical Controls Engineer to join their Technology team, working across the full project lifecycle from electrical design and PLC programming through to machine build, testing and installation.The RoleYou will be responsible for:Designing electrical control systems for special-purpose machineryProducing electrical drawings and schematicsPLC programming, modification and diagnosticsElectrical fault finding and troubleshootingDesigning and developing machinery safety systemsSupporting machine build, installation and commissioningCarrying out electrical modifications and site assessmentsSupporting electrical component selection and procurementUpdating legacy drawings and supporting continuous improvementWorking closely with mechanical design, production, maintenance, customers and suppliersAbout YouWe're looking for an electrical engineer with:Strong industrial electrical engineering experiencePractical wiring and control panel building experienceStrong fault-finding and diagnostic skillsExperience reading and creating electrical schematicsPLC programming and diagnostics experienceExperience with 2D CAD / electrical design softwareEPLAN experience would be advantageousGood understanding of machinery and automationRelevant NVQ, HND, BTEC or Degree qualification18th Edition would be advantageousYou should be a practical problem solver who is comfortable working independently and as part of a small team.The OpportunityThis is a varied hands-on engineering role where you'll be involved from concept and design through to commissioning and customer installation.There will also be some international travel, typically 13 times per year, with destinations including Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and North America.If you're an experienced Electrical Controls Engineer, Controls Engineer, Automation Engineer or Electrical Design Engineer looking for a varied role working on bespoke machinery, we'd be keen to hear from you.Apply now for a confidential conversation about the opportunity.JBRP1_UKTJ
