We are recruiting for an established manufacturer with a highly automated production facility in the Burnley area. You’ll join an experienced engineering team responsible for maintaining and improving a varied range of modern production machinery.

This is a permanent role offering approximately £44,000, with additional overtime paid at time and a half.

The role

  • Diagnose electrical and mechanical breakdowns
  • Complete planned and preventative maintenance
  • Fault-find PLC-controlled production machinery
  • Maintain motors, drives, sensors, conveyors and control systems
  • Work with pneumatic and hydraulic equipment
  • Read electrical and mechanical drawings
  • Support equipment installations and improvements
  • Help reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability

What we’re looking for

  • A Level 3 electrical or electrical/electronic engineering qualification
  • Alternatively, a completed engineering apprenticeship with strong electrical experience
  • Maintenance experience within a manufacturing or production environment
  • Strong electrical fault-finding ability
  • Experience working with PLC-controlled machinery
  • A practical and proactive approach to solving problems

Experience within an automated manufacturing environment would be advantageous, although applications are welcomed from engineers across a range of manufacturing sectors.

Package and hours

  • Approximately £44,000 including shift allowance
  • Rotating days and afternoons
  • No night shifts
  • 35-hour standard working week
