Role Overview: As a Social Worker in the Children in Care Team, you will be responsible for managing a caseload of children who are subject to Care Proceedings and Adoption processes. You will work collaboratively with children, families, and other professionals to ensure the safety, well-being, and permanency of children in care.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct assessments and formulate care plans for children subject to Care Proceedings and Adoption processes.
Provide support and interventions to children and families to address identified needs and risks.
Work collaboratively with legal professionals, courts, and other agencies involved in Care Proceedings and Adoption processes.
Prepare reports and attend court hearings and meetings as required.
Facilitate contact between children and their families, ensuring that the child's best interests are prioritized.
Monitor the progress of children in care, regularly reviewing and adjusting care plans as necessary.
Provide support and guidance to colleagues and contribute to the development of best practice within the team.
Requirements:
Qualified Social Worker with relevant professional registration (HCPC).
Previous experience working with children and families in a statutory social work setting.
Experience in managing cases involving Care Proceedings and Adoption processes.
Strong assessment, communication, and report-writing skills.
Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team and collaborate with external agencies.
Commitment to promoting the rights and well-being of children and families.
