Lead Electronics Engineer

Job Description

Do you have experience of schematic capture, PCB layout and IPC awareness?

Do you have a formal Electronics qualification such as HNC, HND, BEng, etc.?

As the Lead Electronics Engineer, you will be working alongside a market-leading Defence and Aerospace company who are constantly growing and developing. They are always looking to bring on new talents such as yourself and further develop your skills to enable you to grow within the company and industry.

You will be involved in:

  • Take responsibility for the design, development, and support of mixed electrical/electronic solutions from concept to completion following a detailed phase-gate development process
  • Define processes, specifications, and procedures that support the design and manufacture of the electrical/electronic hardware
  • Provide technical review of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection
  • Facilitate the development of functional and physical design requirements to ensure complete integrated design architecture
  • Design and development of electrical/electronic circuitry (includes, analogue, digital, microprocessor, FPGA design techniques and power electronics)
  • Analysis, test and evaluation of electronic/electrical circuits and components
  • Electrical/Electronic circuit simulation and analysis
  • The ability to produce technical documentation to support all activities, from trade studies, requirements documentation, compliance evidence and test documentation
  • Formal Electronic qualification such as HNC/HND/BEng
  • Experience of Electronics Hardware Design & Electrical Product Development for Harsh Environments
  • Electronic analysis of derating, stress, and tolerance
  • Experience of Schematic Capture, PCB Layout and IPC awareness (Preferably Altium)
  • EMC Awareness at product and PCB level
  • Awareness of Def-Stan/Mil Standards, Safety and Quality processes
  • Ability to support and manage aspects of Assembly, Integration, and Test
  • Experience of working with lab test equipment, JTAG design, and debug of electronic circuits
  • Experience of Windchill or other Product Lifecycle Management tools
