Multi Skilled Engineer (Electrical Bias)

Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire

Salary: up to £49,000 per annum + Great Benefits

Hours: 4 on 4 off, Days/Nights – 6:00 to 6:00

Alexander Steele are delighted to be working with a hugely successful food manufacturing business who are seeking a Multi Skilled Engineer to join their engineering team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-invested manufacturing site where you'll be responsible for maintaining production equipment, minimising downtime, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The business offers a proactive engineering environment with ongoing investment in machinery, technology, and site development.

Key Responsibilities

* Carry out both reactive and planned preventative maintenance (PPM).

* Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults.

* Support continuous improvement and equipment reliability projects.

* Assist with the installation and commissioning of new machinery.

* Conduct root cause analysis to prevent recurring issues.

* Complete maintenance records and CMMS updates accurately.

* Work closely with production and engineering teams to optimise performance.

* Ensure compliance with health & safety, food safety, and quality standards.

Requirements

* Apprentice-trained Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Electrician, or equivalent manufacturing engineering experience.

* Multi-skilled engineering background within a manufacturing environment.

* Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.

* Experience of PPM and breakdown maintenance.

* Good understanding of health & safety requirements.

* Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

* Strong communication and organisational skills.
