PostgreSQL Database Engineer

We’re partnering with a highly regarded technology-driven firm seeking a skilled Database Engineer with deep expertise in PostgreSQL. This is a hands-on role within a global team tasked with supporting high-performance, highly available systems.You’ll play a key role in designing, deploying, and maintaining cross-platform database solutions across a mix of open-source and enterprise technologies. Collaborating closely with developers, infrastructure engineers, and investment professionals, your work will directly impact core business functions.What You’ll Be Doing:Engineer for reliability, scale, and performance, with a focus on automation and DevOps principlesDesign and implement backup, HA, and disaster recovery strategiesTune queries and optimize performance at both the system and code levelsCollaborate across multiple internal teams on infrastructure and architecture decisionsLeverage scripting (Python, Ruby, or Perl) for automation and operational tasksOwn projects from design to deployment within an agile, fast-paced environmentWhat We’re Looking For:4+ years of hands-on experience managing PostgreSQL database environmentsStrong understanding of database internals – indexing, triggers, stored proceduresScripting skills in Python, Ruby, or PerlFamiliarity with version control workflows and DevOps methodologiesA degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experienceWhy It’s a Great Opportunity:You’ll join a high-impact team that powers some of the most innovative systems in the industry.
