Java Software Engineer

Job Description

Role: Java Developer (Neo4j experience must)

Location: Sheffield (Hybrid: approx. 2 days per week in the office)

Terms: Long-Term Contract

Visa: Only UK Citizen/ILR

We are looking for an experienced Java Developer to join a team working on an exciting application modernisation and re-platforming project within a large enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Java 11+ backend applications, APIs and microservices.
  • Design and build RESTful APIs and scalable services.
  • Work with Neo4j and PostgreSQL databases.
  • Develop automated tests using JUnit, Mockito and Cucumber.
  • Work within an Agile CI/CD environment, contributing to peer reviews and automated testing.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Strong commercial experience with Java 11+.
  • Experience building microservices and REST APIs.
  • Knowledge of Neo4j or other graph databases is desirable.
  • Experience upgrading dependencies and addressing security vulnerabilities/dependency conflicts.
