Python Software Design Engineer – Renewables

Lead Programmer for software tools for a leading renewable engineering company.

NB: Please note it is essential to have OO software coding & structural engineering experience in Java, C++, C#, VB, or Python.

Specialist engineers serving the renewable energy sector – offshore wind, tidal, wave, marine. A fast-growing, innovative, and exciting renewable company offering excellent opportunities for technical and personal development.

• Lead programmer for new software tools for offshore wind.

• Lead development of offshore wind turbine foundation concept design tools.

• Create code and have experience with Matlab, Python, or similar.

• Focus on foundations & steel design for offshore wind turbines, including stress analysis, FE, loads modeling, and complete design of large offshore foundations such as jackets, monopiles, and steel towers.

• Collaborate with experienced offshore structural engineers for guidance and development direction.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:

• Mechanical / Structural / Civil Engineering degree
• Offshore wind engineering experience
• Programming experience with Matlab & Python
• Structural engineering expertise

Advantages include experience with:

• DNV’s SESAM-GENIE
• Dynamics of offshore wind turbine foundations (jacket, monopile, floating)
• Steel structures such as towers
• Geotechnical engineering
