Job DescriptionPython Software Design Engineer – RenewablesLead Programmer for software tools for a leading renewable engineering company.NB: Please note it is essential to have OO software coding & structural engineering experience in Java, C++, C#, VB, or Python.THE COMPANY:Specialist engineers serving the renewable energy sector – offshore wind, tidal, wave, marine. A fast-growing, innovative, and exciting renewable company offering excellent opportunities for technical and personal development.The Role:• Lead programmer for new software tools for offshore wind.• Lead development of offshore wind turbine foundation concept design tools.• Create code and have experience with Matlab, Python, or similar.• Focus on foundations & steel design for offshore wind turbines, including stress analysis, FE, loads modeling, and complete design of large offshore foundations such as jackets, monopiles, and steel towers.• Collaborate with experienced offshore structural engineers for guidance and development direction.ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:Mechanical / Structural / Civil Engineering degreeOffshore wind engineering experienceProgramming experience with Matlab & PythonStructural engineering expertiseAdvantages include experience with:DNV’s SESAM-GENIEDynamics of offshore wind turbine foundations (jacket, monopile, floating)Steel structures such as towersGeotechnical engineeringNB: It is essential to have offshore wind structural engineering experience.
