Machine Operator
Location: Snodland, Kent
Salary: Up to £30,000
Shift Pattern: 4 on , 4 off (6am – 6pm)
Alexander Steele are supporting a Global manufacturing business who are seeking a Machine Operator to operate and monitor production machinery safely and efficiently, ensuring products are manufactured to the required quality standards while achieving production, efficiency, and waste targets.
Key Responsibilities
* Set up and operate production machinery in line with production plans and specifications.
* Carry out pre-start checks, line set-up, and routine cleaning activities.
* Prepare and replenish raw materials, packaging, and consumables as required.
* Monitor machine performance and resolve minor stoppages to minimise downtime.
* Perform quality checks and ensure products meet required standards.
* Complete production records and documentation accurately.
* Maintain high standards of hygiene, housekeeping, and health & safety.
* Support the achievement of production, OEE, and waste reduction targets.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure efficient production operations.
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support training activities where required.
Skills & Experience
* Experience operating machinery within a manufacturing or production environment.
* Good understanding of health & safety, quality, and hygiene standards.
* Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team and under pressure.
* Basic IT and record-keeping skills.
* Food manufacturing experience and basic food hygiene knowledge are advantageous
