Job Description

Mechanical Inspector - We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Inspector to join our aerospace inspection team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in manual inspection techniques, GD&T, use of shadowgraph/optical comparators, and conducting First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs).

Key responsibilities:

- Perform detailed inspections of aerospace components against engineering drawings and specifications using GD&T principles.

- Conduct manual inspections using precision hand tools (callipers, micrometers, height gauges, Go/No-Go gauges) and optical comparators/shadowgraphs.

- Execute and document FAIRs/FAIs, preparing accurate inspection reports and non-conformance documentation where required.

- Verify dimensional and visual conformity throughout production and during final inspection.

- Work closely with production and engineering to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.

- Maintain inspection records and ensure measuring equipment is calibrated and traceable.

- Ensure compliance with aerospace quality standards and customer requirements.

Required skills and experience:

- Proven experience as a Mechanical Inspector ideally with knowledge of the aerospace industry.

- Strong understanding and practical application of GD&T.

- Experience performing FAIRs/First Article Inspections.

- Proficient with shadowgraph/optical comparator operation and interpretation.

- Excellent manual inspection skills with precision hand tools.

- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

- High attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and clear written/verbal communication.
