Job Description

Position: Mechanical Inspector

Location: Esher, London, United Kingdom

Salary: £18.00 - £20.00 per hour

Working Arrangement: On-site

Employment Type: Permanent

The Mechanical Inspector position is required in Esher, London for our client, a precision engineering and manufacturing business. This role involves inspecting mechanical components to ensure they meet required quality standards, technical drawings and customer specifications. The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience within aerospace or another high-precision manufacturing environment, with strong experience using a range of inspection equipment.

This is a long-term opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Inspector looking to join a business that is committed to investing in and developing its employees.

Mechanical Inspector Job Overview

Carry out dimensional and visual inspections of precision-manufactured mechanical components.

Inspect components against engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances and relevant quality standards.

Use a range of inspection equipment including verniers, callipers, micrometers, height gauges/towers and other precision measuring equipment.

Utilise CMM equipment where applicable, with previous CMM experience highly desirable.

Identify and report any dimensional discrepancies, defects or non-conformances.

Complete accurate inspection documentation and maintain quality records.

Work closely with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and maintain required standards.

Ensure inspection activities are carried out in accordance with relevant ISO and, where applicable, aerospace quality standards.

Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail throughout all inspection activities.Mechanical Inspector Job Requirements

Previous experience working as a Mechanical Inspector within a manufacturing or precision engineering environment.

Aerospace experience is highly desirable, although not essential.

Strong practical experience using inspection equipment including verniers, callipers, micrometers and height gauges/towers.

CMM experience is preferred.

Ability to accurately interpret engineering drawings, dimensions and tolerances.

Knowledge of ISO quality standards and, ideally, aerospace-specific quality standards.

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high quality standards.

Must have the right to work in the UK.
