Job Description

LC Legal is delighted to be partnering with a highly regarded UK law firm with an excellent reputation within the construction and infrastructure sector. Consistently recognised by both Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners, the firm advises a diverse and high-profile client base ranging from major corporates, developers and contractors through to investors, professional consultants and private clients across the UK and internationally.

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of complex work, the firm is now seeking to appoint an ambitious Construction Solicitor at Senior Associate or Legal Director level, to join its expanding Leeds team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded lawyer looking to take on high-quality contentious construction work, whilst also gaining exposure to non-contentions advisory and project matters. Alongside the opportunity to work with highly respected partners and recognised market leaders, the firm offers hybrid working and a competitive remuneration and benefits package.

The opportunity

You will work on a broad range of complex and high-value matters across the construction and engineering sector. The role will predominantly focus on contentious construction matters, including:

  • Construction and engineering disputes
  • Adjudication proceedings
  • Litigation and alternative dispute resolution
  • Contractual and project-related disputes
  • Risk management and strategic project advice

Alongside contentious work, there will also be opportunities to advise on non-contentious construction matters and support clients on project documentation, procurement and development-related issues.

The team acts across a variety of sectors including commercial development, infrastructure, real estate, energy, housing and regeneration, offering exposure to a broad and intellectually stimulating caseload. This position offers excellent client exposure, genuine responsibility from the outset and the opportunity to play a visible role in the continued growth of a well-established national practice.

About you

  • Between 4‑8+ years' PQE within a recognised construction practice
  • Strong experience advising on contentious construction and disputes matters
  • A solid grounding in core construction law principles
  • Strong technical ability combined with sound commercial awareness
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team, with an interest in mentoring and supervising more junior lawyers
  • A proactive and commercial approach to client service and business development

LC Legal is acting as an employment agency and business in relation to this role.
