St Helens
£32,000
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join a successful business. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong understanding of payroll processes who takes pride in delivering accurate and timely payroll services.
The Role
As Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time while maintaining compliance with relevant legislation and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
Process monthly/weekly payroll accurately and efficiently.
Manage starters, leavers, changes to pay, deductions, bonuses and other payroll adjustments.
Calculate statutory payments, including sick pay, maternity and other applicable payments.
Ensure accurate processing of PAYE, National Insurance and pension contributions.
Complete payroll reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
Prepare payroll reports and provide information to relevant internal teams.
Maintain accurate employee payroll records.
Respond to payroll queries from employees in a professional and timely manner.
Stay up to date with changes in payroll legislation and regulations.
Support with year-end payroll processes and reporting.
About You
Previous experience in a payroll-focused role.
Strong knowledge of UK payroll processes and legislation.
Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
Good numerical and analytical skills.
Ability to manage deadlines and prioritise a busy workload.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
High level of confidentiality and professionalism.
Experience using payroll software and Microsoft Excel.
Payroll qualifications such as CIPP are desirable but not essential.
