Senior Infrastructure Engineer (Managed Service Provider) - Derbyshire On-site- £50,000-£65,000
Locke & McCloud is in search of a seasoned IT security professional to join our client's team. In this role as the team leader, you'll be tasked with delivering third-tier technical support, overseeing projects, and offering strategic guidance across various client sites and industries.
Main Responsibilities:
as a pivotal escalation point for our first and second-line support teams.
and enforce security policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
and implement policies and procedures, including Disaster Recovery plans and CyberEssentials compliance measures.
identify and address issues and vulnerabilities to pre-emptively mitigate potential risks.
and maintain Microsoft Windows Server environments (2008 to 2019) both on-premises and in Microsoft Azure.
the deployment, migration, and upkeep of Microsoft 365 cloud services.
Hyper-V and VMWare infrastructures, including clustering.
implement, and manage network security solutions, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, VPNs, and secure access controls.
regular security assessments and penetration testing to identify vulnerabilities and recommend remediation measures.
network traffic for suspicious activity and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.
with cross-functional teams to integrate security solutions into existing infrastructure and applications.
informed about emerging threats and security trends, and proactively implement measures to mitigate risks.
technical guidance and support to junior members of the team.
To be considered for this role, you should have:
track record of leading and managing server and network migrations in both on-premises and cloud environments.
in Azure and Microsoft 365 is essential.
customer-facing skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
team player with self-motivation and proactive nature.
expertise in writing IT policies, procedures, and project plans.
to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
knowledge of Microsoft technologies, including Windows Server, Exchange, Hyper-V, Windows 10/11, Office, and VMWare.
understanding of network analytics, design, and troubleshooting.
with firewalls, routing, and VLAN technologies.
to continuously learn and develop professionally.
