Day-to-day of the role:
Stay up-to-date with consumer trends and buying habits.
Build and maintain relationships with core suppliers.
Handle administrative tasks on behalf of the Buyer.
Collaborate with other departments to assist with marketing strategies and promotional materials.
Work closely with the Buyer and merchandising team to maximise sales potential on all product ranges.
Negotiate favourable terms with suppliers, including pricing and payment conditions.
Make innovative recommendations to add value to the business.
Work with the Regional Sales Manager to ensure stores are merchandised according to brand and visual merchandising guidelines.
Prepare reports on procurement activities, cost savings, and supplier performance.
Analyse purchasing data to optimise buying strategies.
Ensure all products meet quality and safety standards.
Verify supplier compliance with contractual agreements.
Coordinate the organisation of product samples.
Manage correspondence received by the Buying Team.
Arrange appointments for the Buying team with supplier representatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
