Front Office Tech Developer

The CFE Equities Technology group looks after all the applications supporting our Equities business in London including our OMS Fidessa ETP. We support the front office trading team who aredistributed globally and the local middle office team. We work closely with the other development teams across the wider BGC group. We are looking for a developer to work on key projectsincluding our FIX routing and transformation layer, street side aggregation component, back-office feeds and client reporting applications. The role will include providing assistance to the frontline support team, investigation of production problems using technical and analytical expertise and knowledge of the system to resolve problems effectively.Experience RequiredMinimum of 4 to 10 years of Java development, design and testing experience with prior financial industry experience. Knowledge of Spring Framework beneficial.QualificationsThis role is ideally suited for a very delivery focused technologist and someone looking to gain a lot of exposure to trading/sales, as well as the chance to work on cutting edge technologyExperience developing server-side applications using Java is a plusExperience with GIT, Gitlab or GithubExperience with UNIX / LinuxExperience with middleware products like TIBCO, JMS, SolaceFamiliarity with SQLKnowledge of the FIX protocol and order routing / transformationExposure to algorithmic trading usage is beneficialGood understanding of electronic trading and financial marketsKnowledge of EMS/OMS software vendors (e.g., Fidessa, Iress, Eze Realtick etc.)Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communicationDemonstrates effective analysis and problem solvingGood Analytical and Project Coordination skillsAbility to prioritize workload and meet multiple project deadlinesAbility to adapt to a dynamic work environment and make independent decisionsAbility to deal with a range of external parties, stakeholders, and business groups with varying levels of seniority
