About the client

Our client is a UK-based defence organisation delivering highly secure software and systems that underpin critical national infrastructure. They operate as a sovereign centre of excellence, supporting complex programmes across defence and maritime domains. Due to continued programme demand, they are looking to add a Material Controller to strengthen their logistics and inventory capability.

The Material Controller role

As a Material Controller, you will sit at the heart of the logistics function, ensuring the integrity, visibility, and availability of inventory across multiple programmes. Working closely with Production Control, Supply Chain, Logistics, Mission Assurance, and warehouse teams, you will support production schedules and resolve material issues to ensure quality and delivery commitments are met.

You will monitor stock levels of raw materials and finished goods, forecast future inventory needs, analyse data and trends, and identify opportunities to improve inventory control and warehousing efficiency. All activity will be aligned to internal governance, processes, and values within a regulated environment.

  • Proven experience in stock control, inventory management, or warehouse operations within a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Experience using inventory management systems, ideally SAP
  • Experience working collaboratively within a team environment
  • Clear and confident communication skills
