Job Description

Materials Controller

Location: Barking, Pay: 14.14 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, rotating weekly shifts

  • Week 1: 6:00am - 2:30pm
  • Week 2: 2:00pm - 10:30pm
    Contract: Full-time

Omnia Resourcing is recruiting for a Materials Controller to join a busy warehouse and manufacturing operation in Barking.

This is a great opportunity for someone with previous warehouse, stores, stock control or logistics experience who is looking for a varied role with responsibility for keeping materials and stock moving efficiently.

About the role

As a Materials Controller, you will ensure ingredients and packaging materials are available for production when required, while maintaining accurate stock records and high standards of food safety and quality.

Key responsibilities

  • Pick and issue ingredients and packaging materials to production.
  • Accurately record all stock movements on the system.
  • Collect, count and return unused materials to stock.
  • Carry out daily, weekly and monthly stock counts.
  • Investigate stock discrepancies, shortages and damages.
  • Receive, inspect and store incoming materials.
  • Follow FIFO and FEFO stock rotation procedures.
  • Assist with loading and unloading deliveries.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe warehouse.
  • Follow all Food Safety, GMP, HACCP and Health & Safety procedures.
  • Ensure accurate traceability and stock records.

What we're looking for

Essential:

  • Previous warehouse, stores, stock control or logistics experience.
  • Good numerical and counting skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer skills and experience using stock systems.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

Desirable:

  • Food manufacturing experience.
  • Knowledge of FIFO, FEFO, GMP or HACCP.
  • FLT licence.
  • Experience using ERP or WMS systems.

The ideal candidate

You’ll be reliable, organised and comfortable working on your feet in a busy warehouse environment. You should have a strong eye for detail and take pride in maintaining accurate stock levels and high standards of housekeeping.
