Job Description

Aninnovative market leader in the design and development of highly engineeredandcustomised systems within the 3D printing industry. The company are at theforefront of the design and development of extrusion systems and have a strongproduct portfolio selling into both B2B and B2C markets.

Thecompany contracts the manufacture of their components worldwide and performsquality control, warehousing, assembly, and dispatch on site in Oxfordshire.

TheRole

Permanent

Location – Chalgrove, Oxfordshire

Thisrole is based full-time onsite.

Main purpose of the job

This role within the engineering team is responsiblefor the design, testing and roll out of new products within the space ofadditive manufacturing hardware. This will cover the whole new productdevelopment cycle, from coming up with concepts, detailed design work, DFMEA,prototyping, testing and ultimately helping scale up for volume productionworking with the quality, production and marketing teams.

Who you are responsible to:

This rolereports to Principal Design Engineer

Main tasks of the job

  • Carry outdetailed design work including 3D modelling, simulation (eg thermal& stress) and design verification testing,as required.
  • Responsiblefor the day-to-day running of the technical aspects of developmentprojects under the supervision of senior engineers.
  • Creationand approval of technical reports and documentationas required.
  • Bethe day-to-day point of contact between engineering andother departments for development projects.
  • Ensuredesign files and information are kept up to date and stored inaccordance with departmental procedures.
  • Keepup to date with the latest manufacturing techniques and drawingstandards.
  • Workclosely with operations, manufacturing and production engineersto ensure products are designed for manufacture and assembly.

Theabove is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to performdifferent tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the organisationand the overall business objectives of the organisation.

Essential skills and experience

  • EngineeringDegree or equivalent knowledge
  • Proficiencywith CAD, ideally SolidWorks
  • Experiencewith FDM 3D printing.

Desirable skills and experience

  • Experiencein a prototyping workshop, making / modifying prototypes and test jigs.
  • Experiencewith 3D printer firmware such as Klipper or Marlin.
  • ProjectManagement
  • Experiencecollaborating with other departments such as; production, quality,purchasing and marketing.
