The Role

We aspire to make our Cofton venues a year-round tourist destination, providing exceptional food and service to our guests, whilst showcasing the best of what Devon has to offer. As Sous Chef, you will play an integral role in making this happen. Whether it's a Devonshire cream tea or a hearty Sunday roast, your culinary skills will make our guests experience truly unforgettable.

We have three fantastic venues as well as a pizza takeout, and we cater from breakfast until evening. We prioritise supporting our community and sourcing local produce so much so we have recently won an award for it!

You will be passionate about providing exceptional food in a high-volume setting while ensuring the safe and effective operation of the kitchen. On a typical day you will find yourself ensuring kitchen compliance with sanitation, health & safety and allergen regulations, training the team on these as well as menu specs, managing supplier prices, overseeing food ordering, maintaining a strict FIFO stock system, leading a kitchen team and upholding food quality and service standards.

We will give you full training and support, but there are a couple of things we need:

Substantial experience in a similar role

Understanding of legal regulations and practices within a commercial kitchen

Flexibility and an ability to work weekends
