PDA Specialist Teaching Assistant - Year 1

Reeson Education are working on behalf of a welcoming mainstream primary school in Brentford who are seeking an experienced and nurturing Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a Year 1 pupil with PDA.

This is an excellent opportunity for a PDA-specialist TA who understands how to build trusting relationships and use a calm, flexible and child-centred approach to help pupils feel safe, confident and engaged in school.

The role:

Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a Year 1 pupil with PDA.

Build a strong, trusting relationship with the child.

Support the pupil with their academic, social and emotional development.

Use creative and flexible strategies to encourage engagement with learning.

Help manage anxiety and reduce barriers to learning.

Work closely with the class teacher and wider school team.

The ideal candidate:

Has previous experience supporting children with PDA and/or ASC.

Has experience working within a mainstream primary school.

Is patient, nurturing, calm and adaptable.

Understands the importance of building relationships and taking a child-centred approach.

Can think creatively and adapt their approach to meet individual needs.

Is committed to helping children develop confidence and independence.
