Senior DevOps EngineerLocation: Manchester (remote-first, 2x a month in office)Salary: Up to £80,000 (depending on experience) + BenefitsNOTE: For this opportunity, you must be eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC).Are you an AWS-focused DevOps Engineer who enjoys building cloud infrastructure from the ground up, rather than simply maintaining existing environments?We're looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join a growing engineering team delivering bespoke software solutions for complex, large-scale programmes. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on greenfield and evolving platforms, helping shape cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, automation, security, and platform engineering capabilities from day one.What You'll Be DoingDesigning and building secure, scalable AWS cloud infrastructure from scratchDeveloping Infrastructure as Code solutions using tools such as TerraformCreating, deploying and managing Kubernetes-based platformsBuilding and improving automated CI/CD pipelines and deployment processesImplementing monitoring, logging and observability solutions across cloud environmentsDriving infrastructure best practices around security, resilience, compliance and disaster recoveryOptimising platforms for performance, availability and cost efficiencyTroubleshooting complex infrastructure and deployment challengesCollaborating closely with software engineers, architects and technical stakeholdersMentoring junior engineers and contributing to technical leadership within the teamWhat We're Looking For5+ years' commercial experience in a DevOps, Platform Engineering or Cloud Engineering roleStrong hands-on experience designing and building AWS infrastructureProven experience creating cloud platforms and infrastructure, not just supporting existing environmentsSolid understanding of Infrastructure as Code, ideally TerraformExperience working with Kubernetes, Docker and containerised applicationsStrong CI/CD experience using tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins or similarKnowledge of monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana or Elastic StackExperience delivering highly available, secure and resilient cloud solutionsFamiliarity with Agile delivery environments, including Scrum and KanbanExcellent communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholdersDesirable ExperiencePacker, Vault, Artifactory or NexusServerless technologiesSecure software delivery practicesMentoring or technical leadership responsibilitiesIf you're an AWS DevOps Engineer who enjoys architecting and building cloud infrastructure, driving automation, and solving complex technical challenges, we'd love to speak with you.
