Senior DevOps Engineer Location: Manchester (remote-first, 2x a month in office) Salary: Up to £80,000 (depending on experience) + Benefits NOTE: For this opportunity, you must be eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC). Are you an AWS-focused DevOps Engineer who enjoys building cloud infrastructure from the ground up, rather than simply maintaining existing environments? We're looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join a growing engineering team delivering bespoke software solutions for complex, large-scale programmes. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on greenfield and evolving platforms, helping shape cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, automation, security, and platform engineering capabilities from day one. What You'll Be Doing Designing and building secure, scalable AWS cloud infrastructure from scratch Developing Infrastructure as Code solutions using tools such as Terraform Creating, deploying and managing Kubernetes-based platforms Building and improving automated CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes Implementing monitoring, logging and observability solutions across cloud environments Driving infrastructure best practices around security, resilience, compliance and disaster recovery Optimising platforms for performance, availability and cost efficiency Troubleshooting complex infrastructure and deployment challenges Collaborating closely with software engineers, architects and technical stakeholders Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to technical leadership within the team What We're Looking For 5+ years' commercial experience in a DevOps, Platform Engineering or Cloud Engineering role Strong hands-on experience designing and building AWS infrastructure Proven experience creating cloud platforms and infrastructure, not just supporting existing environments Solid understanding of Infrastructure as Code, ideally Terraform Experience working with Kubernetes, Docker and containerised applications Strong CI/CD experience using tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins or similar Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana or Elastic Stack Experience delivering highly available, secure and resilient cloud solutions Familiarity with Agile delivery environments, including Scrum and Kanban Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders Desirable Experience Packer, Vault, Artifactory or Nexus Serverless technologies Secure software delivery practices Mentoring or technical leadership responsibilities If you're an AWS DevOps Engineer who enjoys architecting and building cloud infrastructure, driving automation, and solving complex technical challenges, we'd love to speak with you.
