Job Description

Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical)

Location: Plymouth

Salary: Up to £49,000 per annum

Shifts: Full Time, 37.5 hours per week, varied shift pattern including back shifts, nights, weekends, and bank holidays

About the Role

We are recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a leading manufacturing business based in Plymouth. This is an excellent opportunity to join a company known for its commitment to safety, continuous improvement, and employee development.

Working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving the reliability of production assets, carrying out preventative maintenance, fault finding, and breakdown repairs while supporting operational efficiency and manufacturing performance.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out preventative planned maintenance to ensure machinery reliability and asset safety.

Diagnose faults and perform repairs on manufacturing equipment and production assets.

Identify equipment and process limitations, supporting corrective action improvements.

Work with and install single-phase and three-phase electrical circuits where required.

Follow company health, safety, environmental, and quality standards while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

About You

Essential:

Proven experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment.

Strong mechanical fault-finding skills with experience of breakdown repairs and preventative maintenance systems.

Good understanding of health and safety requirements and safe systems of work.

Ability to work under pressure, communicate effectively, and undertake a varied shift pattern.

Desirable:

Time-served within a mechanically biased maintenance engineering role.

Basic knowledge of PLC control systems and multi-skilled engineering practices.

18th Edition electrical qualification and knowledge of 5S and lean manufacturing techniques.What's in it for You?
