At Wakefield Hospice, every donation helps provide specialist care, comfort and support to people living with life-limiting conditions and their families when they need it most. As their new Donation Centre Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring every donated item reaches its maximum potential and generates vital income to support hospice services.

  • Location: Wakefield
  • Salary: £27,000 - £29,000
  • Contract: 37.5 Hours per Week, Permanent
  • Benefits: including 27 days annual leave plus bank holidays

The Role

This is a varied leadership position that combines strategic oversight with hands-on operational management. You will lead the Donation Centre team, manage stock flow across shops and online channels, oversee transport and logistics, and ensure income generation opportunities are maximised.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading the sorting, processing and distribution of donated stock.
  • Managing stock allocation across retail shops, eBay and other sales channels.
  • Overseeing transport operations, collections and deliveries.
  • Line managing supervisors, staff and volunteers.
  • Driving continuous improvement in processes and performance.
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety, GDPR and retail regulations.
  • Producing operational and performance reports for senior leadership.

About You

Wakefield Hospice is looking for someone who can bring together people, operations and performance in a fast-paced environment.

You will bring

  • Experience managing retail, warehouse, logistics or operational teams.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate staff and volunteers.
  • Experience managing stock, processes or distribution operations.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Confidence working across multiple priorities and stakeholders.
  • A collaborative approach and commitment to delivering excellent results.
