Administration Officer

Job Description

St Bernadette’s is a small,friendly primary school and we are looking for an Admin Officer to work in ourschool office.

You will be part of a two man teamwho keep the school running and ensure that our children are well lookedafter. Every day is different, therewill be some challenges but if you enjoy working as part of a team to problemsolve you are sure to thrive in this environment.

Although the majority of your timewill be to complete finance and personnel tasks, such as collecting paymentsfor dinners and trips, submitting claim forms, placing orders and payinginvoices, there will also be other tasks which fill your day, such as attendingto children’s welfare, sharing reception duties and some hospitality.

The role will also include beingClerk to the Governors, scheduling meetings, preparing agendas and attendingand minuting meetings. There will be someadditional evening hours to work occasionally.

  • A warm, positive and professional manner
  • The ability to work under pressure, prioritiseworkload and cope with many interruptions
  • Good ICT skills
  • The ability to learn quickly!
  • Excellent literacy skills and the ability toconfidently produce correspondence as needed
  • Good communication, patience and flexibility
  • Willingness to carry out other duties such asfirst aid and administration of medicines
  • A sense of humour and a willingness to beinvolved in the life of the school
  • The ability to work in a team
  • To be supportive of our Catholic ethos
  • A caring approach towards children and adults
